And that’s exactly was done by Mrs. Surekha who started this venture to bring Malvan food into our town!
Malvan is a small town in western India (Maharashtra state) very well known for Sindhudrg fort, beach, and seafood.
They literally had to bring water from Malvan to cook the food as it changed the flavor until they formulated their masala to taste the same by using our city’s, (Mumbai) water.
So no doubt folks are coming in to taste their amazing food from the last 25 years and they have good reason to visit Chaitanya who takes such level of dedication in quality food.
Let’s dig in some food shall we :
For appetizers, we ordered Rawa Fried Prawns and Bombay duck.
Another dish was my favorite and probably star of the restaurant,
Crab Lollypop served with schezwan sauce , crisp on the outside and meaty in the inside. Absolutely loved it.
For mains, we ordered Promfret Thali, Surmai (Mackerel) Thali and Chicken Thali.
You can order Thali with either Chapati , Bhakari and Wade.
In fish thali you will get the Fried fish of your choice with Mackerel in gravy, Brinjal/Eggplant vegetable (could change) , gravy bowl and solkadi.
All fishes were fresh and who doesn’t love that nice crispy masala skin outside!
Chicken Thali comes with chicken dry and gravy dish , gravy bowl and solkadi.
But best thing over here is unlimited Solkadi !
It is good idea to go early as the place is small and lot of waiting outside.
I really hope they open branches in town.
